When you use our Services, we infer the general physical location of your device and the geographic regions our Users come from. For example, your IP address may indicate your general geographic region.

‍Marketing Communications. If you provide Clippd with your email address, you may be contacted by us for marketing purposes. You can unsubscribe from our promotional emails via the link provided in the emails. Even if you opt out of receiving promotional messages from us, you will continue to receive administrative messages from us.

‍How to block Cookies.
You can block Cookies by setting your internet browser to block some or all the Cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all Cookies (including essential Cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of our Services. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting placed cookies and disabling Cookies in your browser, or as explained below. You can change your browser settings to block or notify you when you receive a Cookie, delete Cookies or browse our Website using your browser’s anonymous usage setting. ClippdU

ClippdU, Our Mobile App
This section covers ClippdU, the Clippd mobile app for college and elite junior golfers, available on iOS and Android. It adds to the rest of this policy, so the parts that explain who we are, what your rights are, and how to contact us apply to the app as well as to our websites. Where the app differs from our websites, this section is the one that describes it.
What we collect, and how
Details you give us when you create an account. You give us an email address and a password when you sign up. You can also add a mobile number and a note on how your name is pronounced, and you can remove either of them from your profile whenever you like.
Details that come from your college golf programme. Your name, your college or team, your division, your country, and your profile photo reach us through the tournament records of the programme you play for, rather than from you.
Your golf performance data. The tournaments and rounds you play, your hole-by-hole scores, and the analytics we calculate from them, such as strokes gained, placings, and round summaries. This comes from the official scoring for the competitions you take part in.
Information the app collects automatically. While you use the app, we record:
- how you move around it, which means the screens you open, the buttons you tap, and the features you use, recorded against an account identifier rather than against your name or your email address;
- technical details of your device, which are the model, the operating system version, the app version, and the language setting;
- your IP address, along with diagnostic information whenever an error occurs, including the screens you visited beforehand and the layout of the screen you were on, without the text that was shown in it;
- an identifier for your app session;
- a push notification token, if you turn notifications on.
What you send us when you ask for help. If you email our support team from the app, your message arrives with a short reference block at the foot of it, which carries your account identifier, your session identifier, the identifier of the last error your device reported, and the app version. You can delete that block before you send the email, although it helps us find the problem faster.
The app asks for no payment details, collects no location data, and reads neither your contacts nor your photo library.
How we use it
- To give you the app itself, which means showing your rounds, your tournaments, and the analytics we calculate from them.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To send you the notifications you have turned on.
- To find and fix crashes and other faults.
- To understand which parts of the app are used, so that we know what to improve.
- To answer you when you contact support.
We do not use any of this for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.
Who we share it with
We use the following companies to run the app. Each one receives only what it needs for the job named beside it.
Clerk
Signing in, and account security.
It receives your email address, your password (which Clerk stores in hashed form, and which we never see), your name, your IP address, and your device details.
PostHog
Product analytics, so we can see which features are used.
It receives an account identifier, a session identifier, the events described above, and your device and app details. It receives no name, email address, or phone number.
Sentry
Crash and error diagnostics.
It receives an account identifier, your IP address, device identifiers, your device and app details, the name of the screen you were on and its layout without any of its text, and the address and status code of any failed request. It receives neither the contents of those requests nor the data they returned.
Novu
The notification inbox inside the app, and sending notifications.
It receives an account identifier, your push notification token, and the content of your notifications.
Expo
Delivering push notifications to Apple and Google, and delivering app updates.
It receives your push notification token, your platform, and your app version.
Apple and Google
Delivering push notifications to your device.
They receive your push notification token and the content of your notifications.
Amazon Web Services
Hosting our servers and databases.
It holds everything described in this section that we store.
Each of these companies acts on our written instructions under a contract that requires it to protect your data to the same standard as this policy and the law require, and none of them may use your data for its own purposes. Our parent, subsidiary, and other group companies are held to that same standard.
Beyond these companies, we share your golf performance data with the college golf programme you play for, because the programme's coaching staff use it to work with you and the scores are the official record of the competitions you played in.
Where your data is held
Our servers are in the United States, so your information is transferred there, and to the companies listed above, from wherever you use the app. Where a provider is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension, we rely on that certification. For every other provider we rely on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, together with the Addendum issued by the UK Information Commissioner. Your information is encrypted while it travels and while it is stored, using the encryption built into the Amazon Web Services databases and managed services we run on. Our systems sit inside a private network that keeps their traffic off the public internet, and the connections between them are secured with TLS and, where the service supports it, AWS PrivateLink.
Notifications
Push notifications are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off again either in your ClippdU profile or in your device settings. When you turn them off from your profile, we ask Novu to forget the push token for that device.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account details, your profile, and the details you added for as long as your ClippdU account is open.
- We keep the analytics records described above for up to seven years from the day they are collected, after which they are deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner, as described below.
- We keep crash and error diagnostics for up to 90 days, and the technical performance measurements recorded alongside them for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted.
- Your scores and results from the tournaments you played are kept by your college golf programme as the official record of those competitions, for as long as the programme keeps them.
Deleting your account, and withdrawing consent
You can delete your ClippdU account from inside the app. Open your profile, tap "Delete account", and confirm. That deletes your ClippdU login, your profile, and the details you added, and it signs you out. Your scores and results from the tournaments you played are kept by your college golf programme, because they are the official record of those competitions and are not ours to remove.
If you would rather we did it for you, or you want the analytics and diagnostic records described above deleted as well, email us at support@clippd.com and we will take care of it. You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it, as described in the rest of this policy.
You can withdraw your consent to notifications at any time by turning them off, as described above, and you can withdraw your consent to everything else by deleting your account.
Golfers under 16
You must be at least 16 years old to use ClippdU, as our terms of service require, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone younger. If you believe a golfer under 16 has an account, email us at support@clippd.com and we will delete it.

‍Your European Privacy Rights.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (‘EEA’) or in the (‘UK’), you have the additional rights described below.You may request access to and receive information about the Personal Information we maintain about you, update and correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information, restrict or object to the processing of your Personal Information, have the information anonymized or deleted, as appropriate, or exercise your right to data portability to easily transfer your Personal Information to another company. In addition, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including in your country of residence, place of work or where an incident took place.You may withdraw any consent you previously provided to us regarding the processing of your Personal Information, at any time and free of charge. We will apply your preferences going forward and this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before you withdrew your consent.You may exercise these rights by contacting us using the contact details at the end of this policy. Before meeting your request, we may ask you to provide reasonable information to verify your identity. Please note that there are exceptions and limitations to each of these rights, and that while any changes you make will be reflected in active user databases instantly or within a reasonable period of time, we may retain information for backups, archiving, prevention of fraud and abuse, analytics, satisfaction of legal obligations, or where we otherwise reasonably believe that we have a legitimate reason to do so.V.
